This is the best one out of the ones I learned so far. I used wikipedia so many times but I never know that is simply a collection of people ideas/thoughts, but no guarantee that those ones are credible facts. So..be it. One can add, delete - edit .. freedom to write. This is where the head- ache comes.
How this is useful to our org..we have lot of subjects and topics that we can swap ideas and information on the projects. Ex. one of our org. current hot topics is 'Poverty reduction strategy'. Wiki can be created for this topic and start poring the ideas starting from what's poverty, how do you define 'poverty', poverty line.. can go on and on.
I find this tool as a useful tool for sure. As this tool is free, open to everyone with abudant access, we have to recognize that there is a high risk of vandalism..However, I read that there are software available where you can customize the page with limited access..

Most wiki start up tools allow you to refine the security measures, just like when you set up you blog. Of course, you still have to monitor what is being written on a regular basis. I really like your idea for the “poverty reduction” based wiki. It would be a good one to consider bringing up for your web 2.0 committee.
